The National Reading Panel Report is referenced often by Science of Reading (SOR) zealots. They look upon it as an infallible Holy Book. The Five Commandments are cited often: Thou shalt teach phonics. Thou shalt teach phonemic awareness. Thou shalt teach vocabulary. Thou shalt teach comprehension. Thou shalt teach fluency. However, like most organized religions, its adherents seem not to have read the Holy Book. This short video identifies some of the things that seem to be overlooked by our SoR friends.
